Our first four lecturers, Mary Ellen Mark, Alec Soth, Elliott Erwitt, and Lauren Greenfield visited in March, June, September, and November, respectively, to full houses.
David Alan Harvey has agreed be our first speaker of 2010 and will also be conducting one of his famous workshops -- a first for Austin. Bruce Davidson is slated for a November lecture. The two other Icons of Photography lecturers to be announced soon.

The Photographic Essay, A Workshop with David Alan Harvey
As one of the most buzzed about cities in America, Austin offers a diverse array of opportunities to explore your photographic potential. At no time is the buzz thicker than during SXSW, the world-renowned music festival showcasing nearly 2,000 bands from around the globe. Beyond SXSW and the city's rich musical heritage, you can explore themes involving pristine natural resources, booming urban development, cultural diversity, a vibrant arts scene, the historical downtown, the state's government seat, and the list goes on.
These are just a few starter ideas but this workshop is less about Austin and more about you. We are very excited to bring you this incredible opportunity to discover and pursue your photographic authorship alongside one of the world's premier photography instructors, Magnum Photos' Minister of Education, David Alan Harvey.
